My experience after almost 4months and about 1500km, no major issues.
- From a mechanical perspective the ST2 is a super bike to drive and feels very stable and secure. The introduced novelties like built-in display, led-light and minimalistic design just make it a cool bike to drive.
- the i-technology stromer has introduced is not meeting my expectations: the app is not reliable, limited connectivity, the so called tuning capability is also 'minimalistic'. Definitely an area that needs further development.
It's hard to judge the ST2 overall quality level at this stage while all bikes have only experienced a summer season in Europe. Let's see in 6 months from now to see whether it's rain/dirt proof and can bring us from point A to B without stalling. Some reported problems seems to be caused by water. Preventing water from entering some of the key areas are not at the level one would expect on a bike like this. I have not experienced any of the reported problems when driving through rainy conditions but those occasions were very limited. the coming months will give me a better idea.
If you expect to ride in dry conditions only and don't mind about the i-technology features not being as performant...go for it!
If you expect to use the bike as a commuter bike and ride in most weather conditions, tend to rely a lot on the built-in security features....would recommend to wait & see...it's not a cheap bike.
